Welcome to Growing Book by Book! My name is Jodie. I have been an educator for 17 years. I taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades for eight years. I then moved into a variety of roles including Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, Curriculum Coordinator, Federal Programs Coordinator and most recently Head of School. I have also had the pleasure of teaching several teaching reading courses at a local university to education majors. Currently, I’m staying at home with my youngest readers, my sons. Early Literacy is my passion and I hope to inspire you to cultivate readers in your life.

Love the notebooks from Scissor Savvy. My 5 year old daughter, Sky, loves dictating stories to me that she writes in her head and will sometimes write her own by stretching out the words. 2 of the notebooks caught my eye – Where Did the Baby Go and Rainy Day Play Book, because the titles alone would get some amazing stories out of her.
